| The
image is of the ruins at Selinunte, Sicily. It was another cloudless day in
mid August that created a perfectly flat background. As I looked through the
view finder to decide whether I should make a landscape or portrait shot that
the image appeared. It looked like some kind of architectural alphabet. So
instead of deciding to take one or the other I used both perspectives and wove
them together with my technique of segmented film forwarding. It was only after development that the colors would create the adjectives in this ancient libretto. |
